Digital Social Transformation
Description and criteria
This award will be presented to individuals, project teams or initiatives contributed to support the community with the aim to promote the rights and needs of particular groups; or to improve the wellbeing, quality of life and standard of living of the community with the ultimate intent to bridge the digital divide. The award will be awarded to individuals, project teams or initiatives that have made a considerable difference in community through ICT, or use of an ICT tool.
ICT-enabled services/solutions that promote and encourage the rights of the disadvantaged groups to adopt ICT as well as participate and contribute to the development of information society.
Entries adjudication criteria
- Overview of the organisation and key players.
- Detail service delivery – product or service – and the team involved in the project at least in no more than 5 pages.
- Graphic depiction of the social transformation progress from inception of the solution to its current status.
- Clear demonstration of the benefit to the citizens.
- Demonstration of the sustainability of the solution.
- Description of the impact of the transformation on the lives of citizens.
- Description, in no more than two pages of how the solution has proved to be accessible, usable and has successfully been deployed for use by citizens.
Outcomes
- Society that is digitally literate.
- Society that can access information (jobs, education, business opportunities, government services etc.) easily and understand how technology can save their time and money.
- Informed society
